Dr.
John Jay Harper (www.johnjayharper.com)
is a clinical hypnotherapist in Spokane, Washington who has
written a new book that integrates the near-death experience
within the framework of both science and religion; specifically
it is a theory on the operation of cosmic consciousness itself.
His passion is learning not only about life but life hereafter.
However, this was not always the case. John says his inspiration
did not come out of curiosity but out of necessity. In June,
1988, John had an after-death visitation [see below] with a
deceased physicist colleague that changed him from skeptic to
mystic. It was this close encounter with the land of the dead
- and the myriad questions it generated - that relentlessly
drove him for over a decade to solve the riddle of life after
death. The answers can be found in his book,
Tranceformers: Shamans
of the 21st Century. The following is an excerpt from his
book reprinted by permission.
By
all indications, we are not in Kansas anymore. It would seem
that the winds of change have blown the rug out from underneath
us scientifically and spiritually too. The myths we have used
- or have used us - to make sense of our world heretofore are
turning into so much nonsense from a number of perspectives.
For example, Albert Einstein scribbled E=mc2 on a blackboard
a hundred years ago and that equation became the gospel for
those who followed his mathematical logic thereafter. But now
that century old bedrock of the Queen of the Sciences - classical
physics - is about to be dethroned. More so, the Holy Bible
records the importance of light to everything in existence:
|
In the beginning God created the heaven and the
Earth. And the Earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And
the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, let there be light and there was light
(Genesis 1:1-3).
|
Life is light itself.
The implications here are mind-boggling for the speed of light
was the one constant we thought we could anchor our worldview:
Our cosmology as well as our consciousness. Light is what we
see and see with in other words. However, if light-speed is
no longer the valid benchmark to calibrate our sense of perception
of the cosmos, then we have been set adrift on the ocean of
opinion. One man's sense of reality, for example, may not be
what the other man senses to be true of his world at all. If
the speed of light is subjective and not objective, then no
thing is solid, not even the molecules of matter that has
created you and me.
Indeed, this appears to be the case.
The latest laboratory findings in quantum physics say that the
essence of light is a liquid-like medium whose rate of flow
can be turned on and off as a spigot controls water. It can
be slowed down and speeded up. Shockingly, we are being asked
to accept the fact that the fixed laws of nature are not fixed
anymore, becoming unglued at their hinges. In laymen's terms,
this is saying that we human beings create our world reality
through our observation of it, our collective and individual
frame-of-reference within an infinite "living space," an electrified
ether known as the "zero-point
field."
As science writer
Lynne
McTaggart of London, England, revealed in her book,
The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe:
|
"Death may be merely a matter of going home or,
perhaps, staying behind - returning to The Field"
(p. 196).
|
See
the NDE story of Mellen-Thomas
Benedict for a "living" testimony as to the identity of
"The Field or Void": It is God. We also have an older more rigorous,
trustworthy model of reality that validates the whole spectrum
of paranormal psychology - especially trance phenomenon. It
is the spiritual universe paradigm mapped by the mythology of
native cultures and taught by their storytellers: shamans. Shamans
have repeatedly demonstrated to their community members that
they can indeed see and interact with this "field of light"
(cosmic consciousness) that has been heretofore unseen by us
"civilized" folks (with the exception of founders of religions
such as Buddha, Moses, Jesus, St. Paul, Mohammed, Joseph Smith,
bipolar disorder sufferers, and other generic "mystic-types"
like myself).
But from my perspective, this is what's happening: our globe's
consciousness is shifting into the fifth dimension of space
and that will turn our 4-D world upside down and inside out
dimensionally - energetically, vibrationally. That is, we are
now melting en masse into the Mind of God: The Big Dreamer.
Today we are at the threshold of a major galactic event that
occurs once every 26,000 years, a harmonic convergence with
the Cosmos at Large, and along with the Good News, there is
a lot of bad news as well.
Our
scientists are musing over the meaning of global warming and
the melting of the Arctic ice cap with a subsequent catastrophic
change in climate worldwide. What they don't realize yet is
that earlier civilizations that have come and gone; for example,
Egyptian and Mayan, experienced this cataclysm and warned us
about it. They coded this critical cycle of change symbolically
as the revolving "circle of animals" in the Zodiac. These pictorial
"signs of the times" were documenting the cause and effect relationship
between the alignment of star constellations, specifically Orion,
with Earth. That is, ancients knew that our Sun - our source
of consciousness - would be entering into a new megacycle of
solar power output within the Milky Way Galaxy at the turn of
the 21st century - and beyond until the entire planet and its
people were restored to celestial beings of light. Likewise,
they forewarned us in myths portraying an apocalypse that this
new cycle of consciousness evolution would trigger massive Earth
Changes: surface and undersea volcanism that melts glaciers
and alters coastal landscapes, earthquakes in unheard of places,
and overall wind-rain-snow-ice superstorms of increasing severity
and longevity that destroy crops and marketplaces. In a sentence,
the poles are preparing to flip but that is what will open the
third eye of mankind. This shift of the electromagnetic fields
of the planet will bring a new heaven and a new Earth, a "telepathic
society" capable of creative solutions to problems almost spontaneously
as they arise; indeed we will be manifesting miracles beyond
our wildest imagination. In no uncertain terms, the communication
channel we had to God in the Garden of Eden is opening up within
us, again. We are going back to the future. As Seattle pediatrician
and NDE researcher Melvin Morse,
M.D., declares in his book,
Where God Lives: The Science of the Paranormal and How Our Brains
are Linked to the Universe:
|
When I say intuition I mean nothing less than the
ability to communicate directly with God.

John Jay Harper's
After-Death Visitation
George
Sebastian Viguet III died in Huntsville, Alabama, of a massive
heart attack on November 9, 1987. He was a young man of 40 when
his life ended. In fact, my best friend George drew his last
breath in the medical clinic of his family physician located
right next door to Huntsville Hospital. So, I guess when your
time is up, your time is up. I mean if your doctor can't save
you from the grip of death even when you walk in to see him
with but the slightest complaint that you are not feeling well,
it's simply got to be your time to go. That is what I call fate.
I had known George for 18 enjoyable years. My friend was born
to be a scientist.
George was bright, and introverted. I was not all that bright,
and extroverted. However, our paradoxical blend of personalities
yielded some fairly witty conversations over hotly contested
chess games and cold beer. We had many deep philosophical conversations
over the years, some of which were on life after death. George
believed that when you were dead, you were dead and gone, as
I recall it. I remained open to an afterlife because of a childhood
experience that I did not tell him about at that time out of
fear of ridicule.
Albeit terribly shocked to hear of his death that fateful day,
I put on my stoic face of acceptance. Though later that week
at his elaborate Catholic funeral, where I was a pallbearer,
I stared at that metal-box in front of me solemnly. I kept asking
myself over and over again: Where is my friend this morning?
Where in the world - or out of this world - is the soul of
the person that I know as George right now at this very minute?
This line-of-inquiry turned out to be fruitful. I was about
to learn in a few months hence that George was not, I repeat,
he was not dead. Little did I know then that that truth would
cost me dearly: it would cost me my peace of mind for the next
ten years.
For in June 1988, seven months after I helped bury him, I had
an up-close and personal encounter with my friend. Around four
a.m., in an altered state of mind that we hypnotherapists call
a hypnopompic condition - not quite awake - I saw George. I
saw George standing at the foot of my bed. This was no dream,
however. Though he looked younger, George was the same person
that I had known all these years, except his flesh was not
as I'd expect it to be. He looked like one of these finely crafted
oriental ice sculptures yet very much alive. I kept staring
at him with a deer in the head lights look of amazement.
In
large part that was because George was dressed strangely. He
was wearing a brightly colored, short-sleeved Hawaiian luau
shirt with a white beachcomber hat! Spontaneously, I jerked
myself fully awake with a start and I asked myself: Is George
made of glass? His skin, as it was, looked a lot like that
crystal clear free-flowing water creature did in the Hollywood
movie, The Abyss. Then, here was the other shocker: George had
a row of flattened metal beer cans stuffed on the inside of
his hat's headband!
No doubt this Cajun was ready to party again!
Yes, I could accept that interpretation, not a problem. However,
upon deeper reflection I sensed intuitively the symbolic meaning
to his bizarre mode of dress. It was not a comical, playful
joke as I first thought it was. It was, as I came to see with
my third eye opened in trance, a profoundly meaningful gesture
to me. George was projecting a set of specific images that
only I would be able to decipher correctly. He was using a true
body language - a word that originally meant to send vision
from afar as, for example, does the octopus, who changes colors
to express itself rather than emitting sounds to do so.
Thus I recalled that when I had entered the funeral home in
Huntsville, I walked down the center aisle to the front of the
chapel, leaned over his casket, and said:
|
George, a joke is a joke, now let's go get a beer!
|
That is, he was showing me by his colorful party attire
and the old beer cans in the hat band trick that he was alert
and very much alive even then at the supposed end of his life.
To the point: my buddy never died at all. George went into the
fifth dimension, and so shall we all "consciously" sooner or
later:
|
Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be
taken, and the other left. (Matt. 24:40)."

Ancient Visions of
Modern Wisdom
As
we progress and awaken to the soul in us and things
we shall realize that there is consciousness also in
the plant, in the metal, in the atom, in electricity,
in every thing that belongs to physical nature.
-- Sri Aurobindo,
The Synthesis of Yoga
The
Tutankhamun Prophecies: The Sacred Secrets of the Maya,
Egyptians, and Freemasons by Maurice Cotterell reveals
how the Egyptians encoded hidden images about our Sun's
"magnetic-reversal cycles" in the artwork on their coffins.
Why would that be considered a relevant bit of knowledge
to leave behind at the time of death for one's survivors?
First, it would show they understood that all life,
death, and rebirth processes are regulated by the cycles
of electricity and magnetism in stars. Second, it would
show they understood that we are "marked" magnetically
by our Sun: "bar-coded," in today's word with every
thought and feeling we have in every situation both
here and hereafter. Hence, for example, we see the importance
of "sun and water" signs in charts on astrology as these
reflect the way we live our lives either through our
head or through our heart--until we learn to place both
equally into a context that yields the optimal results
for all.
Therein
is the thrust of my book: to explain how this dynamic
process of spiritual and physical evolution works on
the symbols generated by our Earth, Sun, and Milky Way
Galaxy: The Magnetic Heart of Heaven.
Of course,
"Ra" is the Solar Logos, the Sun God in Egyptian mythology.
Here is what they knew then: Our Sun is our own larger
cosmic mind-body entity. In fact, it is the Sun of God
as God the Son that is incarnating through us on Earth
that is the foundation stone of theology: The Theology
of Electricity.
It is
our Sun who is tasked with creating and transforming
electromagnetic mortal beings of flesh and blood into
immortal, crystallized "metallic" solar beings of light.
This is quite a revelation in and of itselfat least
it was to me. So much so that I will be dedicating a
lot of time explaining this idea from a host of perspectives
both scientific and spiritual.
As we
shall see, it was these myths of the idealized "resurrected"
man called the Christ that originated in Egypt, but
has been grossly misrepresented by founders of latter-day
Christianityand other religions as well. No wonder
that both Moses and Jesus were said to be taken to Egypt
as children, it is the birthplace of wisdom on The Bionic
Man.
Specifically,
I have been able to decipher some fascinating symbols
of mythology as recorded in the Holy Bible that I learned
is the language of soul. Indeed there is that critical
piece of knowledge that has prevented so many of us
from understanding the ancients as wise ones and the
generation of geniuses that they were in fact. They
used symbols to leave a legacy not to record their history
because they communicated with one another and the cosmos
at largetelepathically.
 Robert
O. Becker, M.D., author of two landmark texts,
The Body Electric and
Cross-Currents: The Promise of Electromedicine, the
Perils of Electropollution, wrote this article titled
"The
Relationship Between Bioelectromagnetics and Psychic
Phenomena" that was published in the
American Society for
Psychical Research, APSR Newsletter, 16 (Spring
1990). In it, he proclaimed "The intimate relationship
between the Earth's geomagnetic field and living organisms
[show] a firm link has been established between them."
Another
physician, Edgar Wilson, wrote in the inaugural journal
I highly-respect, the
International Society
for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine,
"Humans seem to possess an extremely complex biomagnetic
energy field that operates outside of the nervous system
alone." That is, humanity is a subset of a larger solar
field of light that is minded, and this is why meditation
techniques are used in so-called "primitive" cultures.
It is to connect them with the wisdom of the Sun of
God: Our Higher Self.
The Sun of God is our
Mind-Body at Large
  Distinguished
Professor of Psychology Kenneth Ring put forth the theory
in
The Omega Project: Near-Death Experiences, UFO Encounters,
and Mind at Large that indeed our day-to-day felt-sense
experience of consciousness and all paranormal reception
is a direct function of human sensitivity to electromagnetic
fields of solar radiation within our environment. That
evolution itself may very well be grooming us to enter
into a new genetic-driven level of solar consciousness
that has previously been the domain of the shaman. Ring's
research strongly suggests that modern visions of "global
geophysical cataclysms" should be taken seriously as
a glimpse of our future. I am one such person that has
had these images flash before my mind's eye; thus I
can attest firsthand to what Dr. Ring defines as an
"encounter-prone personalitya distinctive, spiritually
sensitive, and visionary psyche that may, collectively,
represent the next stage in human evolution."
American philosopher
Michael Grosso,
English biologist
John Randall, as well as social psychologist
Ken Ring, have come to the same relative conclusion.
Mind at Large, as Ring defines this entity is, "a benign
transpersonal aspect of [our] mind that is conscious,
purposive, intelligentand capable of interfacing with
matter." Other scientists, in their own ways, are likewise
validating this premonitory insight: Our cosmos is one
living field of creative consciousness forever in the
process of birthing, changing, growing, mutating, shifting,
dying but then transforming itself into something brand
spanking new right here and now. That is what the circle
of the zodiac represents; in short, it is a Wheel of
Fortuneand misfortune. It is like a palate of paints
for choosing how to color our world according to what
it needs to survive and thrive and believe it or not
that is why we are here: We are the caretakers of creation,
the worker bees.
At present, there is a growing
consensus that we need more shamans to read the signs
of the times for the general public before its too late
to make corrective actions to our electromagnetic cocoon
enveloping the planet that we have damaged through electropollution
unknowingly. The real concern is that we might end up
a breech birth only because we have our head up our
past. It's time to go back to the future for a refresher
course.
 Author
of
Pole Shift, John White, who worked closely with
astronaut Edgar Mitchell for decades at his
Institute of Noetic
Sciences, in Palo Alto, California calls this new
breed of man who is displaying more precognition, Homo
noeticus.
Christian trance medium
Edgar
Cayce (1877-1945) is someone who would clearly fit
this category and is in fact a person who White studied
for relevant predictions of a pole shift in the near
term. More so, other visions indicated a time when the
planet will become so polluted that it will begin to
eliminate the threat to life posed by humanity through
a catastrophic series of Earth Changes. White says,
"Precognition is the scientific term for paranormal
knowledge of future events."
Here is the rest of the
story. Now there is even the possibility that Edgar
Cayce has reincarnatedas he predicted he would doin
the form of a young man living in Virginia named David
Wilcock. I had a few interesting exchanges of e-mails
with this fellow in 2001 and all I will say is he is
wise beyond his years and most assuredly "thinks" he
is Cayce. A book has been written on Wilcock's predictions
about our mutation into light beings titled
The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce: Interdimensional Communications
& Global Transformation (2004) by Wynn Free. (See
www.ascension2000.com,
www.wynnfree.com,
www.reincarnationofedgar.com).
For what it's worth, I agree
with the new science paradigm contained in Wilcock's
musings regarding the fact that our Sun's magnetic cycle
is the trigger of evolutionary changes in both the planet
and people as well as animals, plants, and minerals.
Cayce was known to repeatedly say that "mind is the
builder" of physical and spiritual reality through its
constant creation of magnetized "thought form" images
that create a cloud of light around us called an "aura."
"This mind field," claimed
John White, "is composed of the collective experience
of the human raceour thoughts, feelings and actions.
Untold numbers of thought forms have contributed to
the planetary field of mind. These thought fields are
equivalent to what the psychologist
Carl Jung
called an archetype. The totality of thought fields,
or archetypes, constitute an atmosphere of thought energy
coextensive with the Earth's physical atmosphere and
beyond, and can be understood as what Jung called the
collective unconscious."
The goal of evolution is
to make the contents of this collectively unconscious
mega-mind collectively conscious in order for all of
us to employ its visions in our everyday affairs. How
do we do that you ask? You begin by ordering a copy
